REGINALD VERNEY WEBSTER

I'm trying to find out about my Grandfather - Reginald Verney Webster - who was living at 43 Pretoria Road, Tonyrefail in June/July 1914. We supect he was maybe in his 20's then. At that time he was described as a Cinema Manager. I have tried searching ancestry.co.uk but without success.

DO BAPTISM RECORDS EXIST FOR CAPEL Y TON

My mother's family ( Jenkins, Pembroke St., Thomastown) were members in Capel-y-Ton during the first part of the last century and my parents were married there in 1947. I would be very interested to know whether there exists a list of the baptisms which took place the chapel as I assume that my mother and her 3 siblings would have been baptised there.

I would be very interested in any information I can get on my grandfather, Charles Mosley, a local teacher who is buried in Trane, The family used to live on The Avenue. My Mum, Ivy Mosley, left Tonyrefail to be a teacher in Wigston, near Leicester  Glynis Milton

DAVIES FAMILY

I am looking for information on my great grandfather David Davies who dies on 21 februry 1913 aged 50, he is buried at Capel Y Ton and at the time of his death he lived in 56 Pembroke street. I also have a photo of another gravestone, for David Morgan Davies (husband of Hannah Jane Davies) of 'Canwil House' (maybe 'Conwil?) Tonyrefail who died 14 July 1933. I have no idea who David Morgan Davies was and whether he was another relative

On a wider point, I have hit a brick wall with my Davies relatives but perhaps through your site you know of someone locally who could help me with my research? If so I would love to be put in touch with them - or be pointed in the right direction to visit. My greatgrandfather was married to Ann Davies (Davies was her maiden name too) and they had 3 sons - David Benjamin, John Richard and Glyn Afan (my grandfather). John married Clarice Novella Davies (also nee Davies!) who was born 1909 at 11 Dyffryn Terrace in Tonyrefail. John and David (and their wives - but no children) ended up in Aberystwyth (my greatgrandfather was born in Llanbadarn and his wife Ann in Llanafan - both just outside Aberyswyth) while my grandfather moved to Cardiff (which is where I am). Ann Davies died in the late 1930s - she may well be buried in Tonyrefail too.      Catherine roberts

My name is Kate Rauhauser-Smith and I am researching my husband's family history. His great-great grandparents left Wales and landed in America in 1892. Family tradition has that they came from the town of Tonyrefail in South Wales.

I'm hoping to connect with members of the family who remain in the area or folks who might offer advice on learning regional history, church names or other ideas for research. Any, of which, will be greatly appreciated.

Their names were Daniel C. Davies (31 May 1866 in Wales - 13 Dec 1918 Johnstown, PA, USA) and his wife Urinah (Richards) Davies (13 Oct 1866 in South Wales - 1 Sept 1944 in Johnstown, PA, USA)

His parents were Henry Davies and Mary Llewellyn Davies and her father was Daniel Richards. Urinah's obituary listed the following siblings: Elizabeth (married a Roderick), Edith (married a Morgan), Rev. Azariah, John and Daniel Richards.     Kate Rauhauser-Smith
