Over 1200 people joined Tonyrefail PACT at their day of events in Tyn-y-Bryn Park.
Funded by Rhonda Cynon Taf Council, children and families enjoyed taking part in all the activities from football and netball skills thanks to the Council’s Sports Development, Martial Arts demonstration from Tonyrefail Tae Kwando, archery with Pentref Bow Men and finger printing with the Local Police.

Councillor Eudine Hanagan, Cabinet Member and Ward Councillor for Tonyrefail West said, “The day proved to be a real success and was certainly enjoyed by all, including myself.
“We continually work actively to provide provision and activities for our younger people, for example the free swimming offer over the summer, High Five and the More Card.”

Other local organisations also came along on the day offering different kinds of fun and information, for example, Barnados, Rhys Cycling, Crime Prevention, Royal Air Force and Mountain Rescue.

PCSO Allan Blackburn who organised the day alongside local Councillors with help from the Rhondda Cynon Taf Events team said, “It was a great day, not even the bad weather put people off and we easily moved in to the Leisure Centre and everyone still had a brilliant time. It was good to see so many young people turn up as that’s what the day was about.
“Helping to inform local young people about what is on offer is extremely positive, especially within the summer holidays. It has really helped to continue to build the relationship between residents and the relevant officers and I would like to thank the Council’s Events team for all their help.”
